Mark Wahlberg has a distinguished Hollywood career to his credit.
The Fighter star, however, is a devout Catholic in addition to being a well-known figure in the world of film and being married to a former Victoria Secret model.
In fact, Wahlberg frequently discusses his faith and claims he prays before he starts each day.
He admitted to MSN News, “I now take two days a week off from the gym.I don’t take a day off from kneeling in prayer, reading my daily devotions, or going on my hands and knees.
Adding, “I pray for the patience,” Wahlberg said. “I want to set an example for others by being devoted to my family, my faith, and my work ethic.
“I was put in this position for a reason, and that reason is not to let my roots go to seed. I have to use the skills and abilities God has given me to benefit others.
The actor also spoke on how, despite his religion’s lack of popularity in Hollywood, he is still committed to it.
Wahlberg made an appearance on Ash Wednesday sporting ashes in the form of a cross as a representation of his involvement in Lent.
The actor discussed his intention to give up meat and just eat one meal from Ash Wednesday to Good Friday in his explanation of how Lent’s fasting is about separating from destructive habits for spiritual development.
